Trending Jewellery Of This Year

When shopping for a new season, one area many often forgot to read up on is jewellery trends. A pair of statement earrings or a standout necklace can really finalise an outfit. Take every look that gets sent down the runway, for example. That said, often these trends don’t quite get the coverage they should.

Here at Who What Wear, we’re all about making new trends seem easy, not overwhelming. And there really isn’t any need to buy an entirely new wardrobe as soon as September hits. Instead, we recommend investing in pieces that resonate with your personal style and will last in your wardrobe.

However, by incorporating some of the below jewellery (and yes, you will be wearing these pieces for the long haul), you’ll feel the instant new-season refresh. From grown-up anklets for the office to ’80s earrings for your party look, see our guide to the four best new jewellery trends.

1. Shells

If you’re not already into shells, you must be avoiding Who What Wear. This summer has seen shell jewellery in all different shapes and sizes, with novelty holiday purchases deemed acceptable. But as we head into autumn, it’s the special, substantial piece that we want to buy.

2. Heavy Duty Chains

We fell hard for Natacha Ramsay-Levi’s debut Chloé collection, which introduced us to her heavy-duty chains. And, boy, they were everywhere. And it wasn’t just her, as Balenciaga and Miu Miu have got into the chain action too. We instantly want to layer supersized chains over everything we wear for winter. Get extra style points when you add medallions.

3. ’80s Earrings

It’s another season of seriously statement ’80s earrings, and we can’t get enough. After watching a tonne of shoulder-grazing bling come down the runway’s of Saint Laurent, Isabel Marant and Christopher Kane (we could go on), we couldn’t wait for them to drop online. And the time is now to pick up a pair. We say go big or go home.
